Students in Mr. Thomas’ Agriculture class at MMS completed their DIY hydroponics systems today. Heirloom tomato seeds will be used from a tomato dating back to 1963. The class is also growing carrots, onions, radishes, a selection of peppers, and a selection of other tomatoes. Miniature greenhouses will be installed after Thanksgiving break and chicken eggs will start to be incubated at the beginning of January. 🧅🍅🥕🥚

The Mullens Middle School Cooking Club made their first recipe today! 💙🤍
They practiced cutting apples, as well as layering yogurt, granola and apples to make healthy parfaits. 🍎🍏
MMS students enjoy elective clubs as part of their new schedule! 🪴🍪📚📰
Students selected elective courses such as agriculture/horticulture, newspaper/yearbook, STEM, classic games, nutrition and cooking, book club, and intramural sports. 💙🤍

Mrs. Shumate’s 5th grade students at MMS learned about angular momentum and gravity through a bottle flipping investigation. 😎
The winning group used a 28 oz Body Armour bottle with 2 1/2 inches of water to receive the highest percentage of successful flips. 👏🏼 Awesome job!

Students that live on Guyandotte Avenue towards Itmann may be 30 minutes late getting home.
Mrs. Brooke Bailey, TAG Teacher, traveled to the Mullens area schools to complete virtual Escape Room Challenges with Mrs. Liz Bailey’s ELA classes at Mullens Elementary and Mrs. Kara Shumate’s Math classes at Mullens Middle. The kids used their Math, ELA, and critical thinking skills to break out and had loads of fun in the process! 🔓🔎💙
